PASSPORTS & VISAS U.S. Citizens
All U.S. citizens, even infants, need a valid passport to enter Australia for stays of up to 90 days. If you booked your tour with CTT airfare included, we will process the visa for you. Canadian Citizens Canadians need a valid passport to enter Australia for stays of up to 90 days. Children under 16 may be included on a parent's passport but must have their own to travel alone. U.K. Citizens Citizens of the United Kingdom need a valid passport to enter Australia for stays of up to 90 days. Children under 16 may travel on an accompanying parent's passport. Australian visa application forms are available from most travel agents and in the Australian Tourist Commission's brochure, "Australia, A Travelers Guide." You may also apply in person at the Australian High Commission (Australia House, Strand, London WC2B 4LA, tel. 0171/379-4334) or at the Australian consulates in Manchester and Edinburgh. CUSTOMS & DUTIES Australia has strict laws prohibiting or restricting the import of weapons and firearms. Animals and certain foodstuffs are subject to quarantine. Antidrug laws are strictly enforced, and penalties are severe. Nonresidents over 18 years of age may bring in 250 cigarettes, or 250 grams of cigars or tobacco, and 1 liter of liquor, provided this is carried with them. Other taxable goods to the value of $400 for adults and $200 for children may be included in personal baggage duty-free.
